Interpreting modalities

Simultaneous interpreting

Simultaneous interpreting is the process of translating original speeches in real time. This dynamic and seamless form of interpreting can be delivered using interpretation booths, wireless audio systems like Infoport, or through whispered interpreting.

  • Conferences and conventions
  • Professional meetings and events
  • Business presentations
  • Product or service launches
  • Factory training sessions and guided tours
  • Training courses
  • Market research
  • Interviews and press conferences
  • Board meetings and assemblies

Consecutive interpreting

In consecutive interpreting, interpreters listen to the speaker’s message, take notes during the presentation, and, once the speaker has finished, convey the meaning of the message.
This type of interpreting typically requires regular pauses, which can extend the overall duration of the event.

  • Conferences
  • Bilateral negotiations
  • Press conferences
  • Protocol events
  • Award ceremonies
  • Official meals
  • Commercial presentations
  • Factory visits

Liaison interpreting

Liaison interpreting is a form of consecutive interpreting where interpreters act as the communication bridge, switching between the participants’ two languages and interpreting in brief segments. This approach ensures a smooth, continuous dialogue.

  • Business settings: commercial meetings or negotiations.
  • Legal contexts: it is used in police stations, courtrooms or consultations with lawyers.
  • Medical settings: facilitates communication between healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Customer service: government offices or social institutions.

Telephone interpreting

Telephone interpreting is a form of remote interpretation that is flexible and easily accessible. The interpreter facilitates communication over the phone or via video conference, typically using a consecutive interpreting approach.

  • Business settings: meetings with business partners, suppliers, or clients to streamline communication.
  • Legal contexts: key in communication between lawyers and clients or in preliminary proceedings.
  • Healthcare services: communication between healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Customer services: to resolve inquiries or questions related to products and service management.

Spanish Sign Language Interpreting Service (LSE)

At BCB Solutions we can also assist you if you need a sign language interpreter to provide simultaneous interpretation from spoken language to sign language and vice versa.

We offer this bridging service for individuals with auditory impairment in business or educational settings, healthcare services, legal proceedings, public and training events, and in the media.

Remote interpreting via audiovisual service platforms or partners

Today, interpreters do not need to be physically present at the event or alongside the speaker or person requiring interpretation. They can be in different cities or even on different continents. This is known as remote interpreting.

At BCB, we partner with top audiovisual service providers to enable remote interpreting through their hubs or digital platforms with simultaneous interpreting modules, such as Zoom or Teams.

When a professional interpreter steps in, the message is conveyed faithfully—not only in content but with all its subtle nuances intact.
